CDS 4th Of July Party Playlist (Part 1)

Thousands upon thousands of parties will be sweeping the United States tomorrow, as the country celebrates its 238th anniversary. July 4th marks the day that the United States declared their independence from Great Britain at the end of the Revolutionary War. In honor of the celebration, CDS Music Chart is offering a handmade playlist to help kick start your party. Instead of writing about each track, I've decided to include stats for each track on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50 (if they haven't yet reached the Hot 50, I'll occasionally include a short description). Here's to a giant celebration!

This is Part 1 of a 2 part post! Part 2 coming soon.

"Wasted (feat. Matthew Koma)" - Tiësto
CDS Music Chart Hot 50 Peak: #51(x2)

While "Wasted" has yet to officially debut on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50, it has peaked at #1 on the extended chart (which houses #51-60) for 2 weeks. That's equivalent to reaching #51 for two weeks. Still, at this point it's highly likely that "Wasted" eventually makes the extended list. I'd want to groove to this track all night long if I had the chance, but to be fair to other tracks, let's keep the amount of plays lower (no more than 3, unless you enjoy ticked off party guests). Have fun with this one, but not too much fun.

"2 On (feat. SchoolBoy Q)" - Tinashe
CDS Music Chart Hot 50 Peak: TBA

Though it's currently forecasted to crack the CDS Music Chart Hot 50 this week (or at least debut at #1 on the extended chart), Tinashe's "2 On (feat. SchoolBoy Q)" has been around for months. Until recently, it had been under the radar for quite a while. When radios started blasting it non-stop, the track quickly started to heat up. Now I'm starting to give it a few spins. While its little known, its a must have for any party -- 4th of July is no exception.

"G.U.Y (Girl Under You)" - Lady Gaga

"Bartender" - Lady Antebellum
CDS Music Chart Hot 50 Peak: TBA

Since the track's debut back in late May 2014 (approximately 6 weeks ago), I've played it at least 5 times every week. While that amounts to a solid 10 points right off the bat, "Bartender" hasn't been able to grace the Hot 50 or even the extended chart -- though it has come awful close to the latter one 5 times. While its chart life is non-existent, "Bartender" screams party to me. It's clearly one of Lady Antebellum's more focussed efforts, and is the only track they've put out since "Just A Kiss" (2011) that feels fresh and crossover ready. It's an excellent edition to your 4th of July playlist!

"Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea)" - Ariana Grande
CDS Music Chart Hot 50 Peak: #9
Debut: May 8th, 2014
Weeks On: 9
Chart Run: 31 - 26 - 25 - 19 - 19 - 16 - 14 - 12 - 9
Most Recent Position: #9 (July 3rd, 2014)
Highest Rank: #9 (July 3rd, 2014)
Lowest Ranking: #31 (May 8th, 2014)
Status: Still On

"F For You (feat. Mary J Blige)" - Disclosure
CDS Music Chart Hot 50 Peak: TBA

Following the massive success of "Latch (feat. Sam Smith)" on my chart (#3), I decided to sample the rest of the Disclosure discography. "F For You" (which came in original and Mary J Blige remix forms) instantly stuck out to me as a song that could eventually become a major smash/favorite of mine. In fact, I ran out to Target to get their exclusive version of Settle just to get the Mary J Blige remix of this track. The remix should debut on the July 10th dated issue of the CDS Music Chart Hot 50.

"Undo" - Sanna Nielsen
CDS Music Chart Hot 50 Peak: #1(x3)
Debut: May 15th, 2014
Weeks On: 8
Chart Run: 19 - 5 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 1
Most Recent Position: #1 (July 3rd, 2014)
Highest Rank: #1 (June 19th - July 3rd, 2014)
Lowest Ranking: #19 (May 15th, 2014)
Status: Still On

"My Love (feat. Jess Glynne)" - Route 94
CDS Music Chart Hot 50 Peak: #51

On the chart issue dated July 3rd, "My Love" debuted at #51 (the #1 position on the extended chart) due to me taking a liking to it after Clean Bandit's "Rather Be" (which also features Glynne) cracked the top 5. "My Love" is raspy yet smooth at the same time, and is a grooving deep house offering filled to the brim with sickening beats and rounds of electrified sound clips that really bring this track together. At this rate, it should debut on the July 10th dated issue of the CDS Music Chart Hot 50... but only time will tell.

Come back for part 2... and there might eventually be a part 3 for those late night party people. Stay tuned and have a great 4th of July!
